Book Fair FAQ’s
How are Book Fairs delivered and collected?
We deliver around 7:00am and set up the book display for the first session at 9:30am. We pack the books away after the last parents have left.
If Book Fairs are more than 1 day, we may leave some boxes overnight if there is a safe place to store them.
What does your school need to provide for the Book Fair?
- A hall or large space to display books and for timetabled classes to browse and purchase
- Provide access to 11 to 14 large tables to display books
- Easy access to load and unload books into bookfair space
- Space needs to be easily accessible to parents after school ( consider entry and exit points)
- Depending on school size 2 consecutive dates for Foundation/Key stage 1 and Key stage 2
- Access to power point for laptop to record and scan sales
How do we redeem our commission?
-
Choose or order commission books at the end of the day ( subject to availability)
-
Enable an opportunity for equality of access for pupil premium students and families by providing schoolbook vouchers slips for chosen students to redeem ( commission balances can be carried forward to the next book fair to aid budgeting)
-
Give each class and or pupil premium students a budget to spend at book fair for class book corners or other reading environments

Notify parents of book fair dates, venue and access times after school.
Allow KS2 students to bring money in to purchase books during their time tabled browsing sessions.
Encourage KS1 pupils to come after school with parents to browse and purchase after school. For those capable of making their own choices we are happy for them to purchase during their timetabled session.
Note: This will deter bottlenecks and queueing after school. It will also give pupils attending after school clubs, an opportunity to purchase books.
Can children use World Book Day Tokens at the Book Fair?
We supply the World Book Day (WBD) books and accept tokens on WBD books only, there is also no commision given on these books. We often also have stock of these books through the rest of the year, not just around WBD time.
