Surprises on Guardian Shortlist

Children's Laureate Michael Morpurgo, Jan Mark and Kevin Brooks are all omitted from this years Guardian Fiction Prize Shortlist.

Only four of the original eight titles to appear on the longlist are on the shortlist. The books that have made it onto the shortlist are:

Millions by Frank Cottrell Boyce
No Shame, No Fear by Anne Turnbull
Last Train from Kummersdorf by Leslie Wilson
How I Live Now by Meg Rosoff

The winner will be announced on October 9.
