Philip Pullman's trilogy, His Dark Materials, is to be made into films and should hit cinema screens in either 2004 or 2005. The company responsible for the Lord Of The Rings films, New Line, have agreed the deal with Scholastic Entertainment in the US to co-produce the films. It has not been decided whether the trilogy will be made into two or three films.

It's very pleasing because I've seen and admired 'The Fellowship of the Ring', so I'll be full of enthusiasm for New Line.
