Book title:
Thief

Book summary:

Thief is about a young girl called Lydia who has just moved town. But not everything goes as planned. The school cup has gone missing and is found in Lydia's locker. How is she going to prove she is inocent

Book's strengths:
Which characters did you especially like and why?

We found Lydia the most interesting character to read about, because she expresses her feelings and is never boring.

Which parts of the storyline really worked well and why?:

When Lydia was sent into the future, it built alot of suspense and excitement, and created an image of what the future is going to be like.

What did you enjoy about the writers style?:

Malorie Blackman always creates alot of suspence and builds up alot of tension. We find this thrilling.

Book weakness:
Which characters in the book were less believable or interesting?

We find Frankie's dad the most boring and uninteresting person to read about. It's a good thing he's not in the book much

Which parts of the book were difficult to follow or not believable?:

When Lydia fell off the horse and saw a swirling bright light, that sent Lydia into the future. It was a bit hard to believe

When did the writer's style not work as well?:

When the book came to an end. It seemed as if Malorie Blackman got tired and put less effort into the book.

Summary of the book:

We think this book is a stunning and exciting read, but it lacks a few qualities. Overall we think this book has a book rating of 9 out of 10

Star Rating: 4 out of 5
