Stuck In Neutral by Terry Trueman

Reviewed by Laura Ryan - Pimlico School, June 2001

Type of book:
It's a bit of fiction and non-fiction

What I thought about the book:
I thought the book was very gripping and emotional because the boy in it couldn't speak or move any parts of his body, so he couldn't tell his dad he wasn't going through pain during any of his seizures so that his dad wouldn't kill him.

Good points:
It's a book which will interest lots of people which have disabled friends or family like Shawn. I found this book very hard to put down because it was funny and sad.

Bad points:
There's a bit in the story where it went on about seizures a bit too much. It needs a new cover because it won't attract people to buying the book. The start was a bit boring, so it should be more catchy.
