The Illustrated Mum is about a girl named Dolphin who has a very young mum and a very bossey sister. Her mum, Marigold, is covered in tatoos, but her sister, Star, doesn't approve of them. But one day Star's Dad comes and Dolphin's life is ruined forever

Which characters did you especially like and why?

Our favorite character is Dolphin because she isn't normal and she cares about her mum even if she is illustrated.


Which parts of the storyline really worked well and why?:

We think the part that worked well was the part about when Star's Dad comes because it made you feel sorry for Marigold.


What did you enjoy about the writers style?:

The fact that she always has imagitive ideas.

Which characters in the book were less believable or interesting?

We think the book doesn't have a weakness.


Which parts of the book were difficult to follow or not believable?:

We don't think anything was unbelievable.


When did the writer's style not work as well?:

We think Jacqueline Wilson's style worked well all through the story.

It's a very good and entertaining story.
