Jeremy strong was born in south-east London in 1949.
At the age of three he fell out of a first floor window
and landed on his head. He was in hospital for a week, with
a broken arm and a headache.
Luckily he recovered, although he was always accident-prone
as a child. He broke various bones and had stitches for
big head cuts. This, he says, is because he spent most of
his time out in the fields near his house playing.
At school he enjoyed playtime, lunchtime, and half past
three. He also liked making things up and writing about
them. He spent his teenage years writing poems for his girlfriend,
Susan, until she gave in and married him.
Jeremy's first job was working in a bakery, putting jam
into three thousand doughnuts every night, a job he found
extremely boring. Later on he played the electric violin
in a rock band, but they only made one public appearance.
After that Jeremy decided to become a teacher and it was
then that he really started to write.
He says that he spends most of his life in a dream, thinking
up ideas for new stories.
Jeremy lives in a small village in Kent with his family
and has two grown-up children.
