School Bookshop
This website has been developed with
the needs of schools, teachers and anyone involved in school
education in mind. We recognize that buying books for schools
is a slightly different process to buying books normally
and so we've designed the site so that schools and other
similar further educational establishments and libraries
can pay for the books they order by invoice.
Our School bookshop section
contains recommended titles for the National Curriculum
as well as Literacy and Numeracy.
There is also a Children's
bookshop that contains recommended fiction, non-fiction
and poetry by age range as well as current special offers.
You can also order by telephone
or fax and use our order
form or quotation
form to order by post and fax. We understand that websites
are not a substitute for seeing and handling books, but
we aim to use our knowledge as well as feedback from teachers
and parents to provide recommended
reading in all curriculum areas making your job easier.
Buying Books
Buying books for your school from the Jubilee Books Website
couldn't be easier. Just add books to your shopping
basket in the usual way and once you are happy with
the books you have selected just fill in the form and your
order will be sent to us. You will receive an immediate
automated confirmation of your order via e-mail. If you
do not receive this e-mail your order will not have been
processed. Once we have confirmed the order with your school
and the availability of the books in your order they will
be dispatched to you at the school address.
Setting up an
account
If you are a teacher, librarian or have a budget to spend
for a similar educational establishment you can pay for
your books by invoice. The first time you order books
from us you'll be asked to fill out an on-line form with
the details of your workplace and your position. Once we've
confirmed your status - usually by the end of the same working
day - we'll despatch the books to you.
From then on our secure server will remember your details
so you'll only need to remember your e-mail address and
password.
Alternatively you can fax or post your order to us using
our Order
Form or if you would like us to provide you with a quote
for an order you can use our Quotation
Form. You will need Adobe Acrobat to print these forms,
it is available freely from the www.adobe.com
website.
Using us in the
classroom
Why not use us in the classroom? The magazine
section on this site contains interviews
and profiles of popular children's authors, illustrators
and poets. There is also a reviews
section where teachers and pupils can send in reviews of
books they have read, there is also a writing
review frame that can be used to aid the process of
reviewing.
There are also tips from top children's authors on writing
stories, with story beginnings and endings given by authors
including Paul
Jennings, Alan
Durant, Adele
Geras and David
Belbin.
