Agard

John Agard was born in Guyana and lived there until
he moved to London in 1977. He worked for the Commonwealth
Institute for several years giving talks, readings
and workshops.

Valerie
Bloom
Poet and performer
All ages
Valerie, originally from Jamaica, is the author and
editor of a number of poetry books including
Fruits, Let Me Touch The Sky and Ackee,
Breadfruit Callaloo. She has performed extensively
throughout Britain and the Caribbean.

James
Carter
Poet and Writer
All ages
James is a popular and regular visitor to Primary
schools where he gives poetry (With music) performances
and workshops. He is also an INSET provider, a lecturer
in Children's Literature/Creative Writing at Reading
University and the author of several creative writing
books for Primary teachers.

Andrew
Fusek Peters
Storyteller & Poet
All ages
Andrew Fusek Peters is an Anglo-Czech poet, author,
anthologist, storyteller, didgeridoo player, broadcaster
and creative writing tutor. He can perform to large
groups and run workshops with small groups from reception
up to sixth-form, plus inset for all abilities, including
SLD.

Tony
Mitton
Author & Poet
Nursery to ks 2
Tony Mitton, children's poet and writer, is the author
of over 100 books including Big Bad Raps and Fangtastic
Raps as well as titles from the Oxford Literacy Web.

Other authors available, depending on availability,
include; Grace Nichols, James Berry, Tony Bradman,
Errol Lloyd, Michael Forman and John Foster.
