Adisa is a commanding figure when he performs on stage.
Whilst the most beautifully written poem can drop
like a dumpling in a shallow stew when voiced by an
amateur, Adisa is totally engaging and entertaining.

Performance Poet
All ages
Musically inspired, Patience Agbabi refines and
redefines language. Her influences come from sources
as varied as rap, punk, ska and blues, along with
the work of other poets such as Benjamin Zephaniah
and Merle Collins.

Valerie
Bloom
Poet and performer
All ages
Valerie, originally from Jamaica, is the author and
editor of a number of poetry books including
Fruits, Let Me Touch The Sky and Ackee,
Breadfruit Callaloo. She has performed extensively
throughout Britain and the Caribbean.

James Carter
Poet and Writer

James is a popular and regular visitor to Primary
schools., where he gives poetry (With music) performances
and workshops. He is also an INSET provider, a lecturer
in Children's Literature/Creative Writing at Reading
University and the author of several creative writing
books for Primary teachers.
Fiona

Fiona works in a warm and humorous way which gives
even the shyest child the chance to contribute, and
uses her quick wit to make her storytelling performances
for adults fresh, contemporary and sharp.

Kevin

Most of Kevin's work is in primary schools and libraries
but he also does storytelling demonstrations - a story
with accompanying commentary - for conferences and
teacher training sessions and storytelling tours in
art galleries, museums and countryside sites. Kevin
also performs for the National Trust and Tate Britain.

Jane was born on the island of Dominica in the
Caribbean and brings alive the African & Caribbean
Oral tradition through song, rhythm games, poems,
stories, drama and dance. Jane can cater for all ages.

Anne has worked extensively as a performance poet
and storyteller at many different events. She performs
and runs workshops with all ages.

Jonzi-D
Performer and Rapper

Jonzi-D has been at the forefront of underground British
hip-hop culture since it burst onto the scene at the
beginning of the eighties, his work includes the play
'Aeroplane Man'.

The music provided usually consist of songs and chants
of ancestral folk stories, the workshop and training
is based on the usage of Western and African various
authentic instruments, their rhythm patterns and how
they can be fused into various music styles of today.

In her workshops Raman uses her skills as a writer
and performer to build an environment of safety where
participants can engage with the source of their truths
and fictions and recreate them using the structures
of poetry, prose, storytelling and drama.

Andrew Fusek Peters is an Anglo-Czech poet, author,
anthologist, storyteller, didgeridoo player, broadcaster
and creative writing tutor. He can perform to large
groups and run workshops with small groups from reception
up to sixth-form, plus inset for all abilities, including
SLD.

Performance Poet

Poppy Seed describes herself as an 'environmentally
friendly humanitarian' who is dealing in poetic sound
power to entertain and educate. Appearances include
Glastonbury, the ICA, The Albany and Oval Theatres.

Steve

Performance Poet

Steve has extensive workshop experience in schools,
youth clubs and with adults. He also works with adults
and children with learning difficulties.
He is happy to work with children of any age.

Surya

Storyteller

Surya links all performances and workshops to the
learning outcomes in the Early Years Foundation Stages
and the National Curriculum. Props, instruments, textiles,
visual artefacts, songs and games are all used during
the session to engage participants at all levels.

TUUP
International Storyteller & Drummer
All ages
TUUP (pronounced TOOP) has worked for over 20 years
in schools and colleges as a storyteller. He travels
around Europe and is a hugely popular and highly professional
person who can work with groups of up to 60 children.
