Fiona
is a storyteller who hears the music of the spoken word
and respects the traditional cultures which speak to us
through stories. She works in a warm and humorous way which
gives even the shyest child the chance to contribute, and
uses her quick wit to make her storytelling performances
for adults fresh, contemporary and sharp.
Fiona
specializes in telling folk, fairy and wonder tales, traditional
stories, myths and legends from all around the world, with
a special interest in stories of girls and women.
.
Her
experiences are wide ranging; she has entertained festival
goers at Glastonbury, told soothing stories to critically
ill children in intensive care wards at Guy's Hospital as
well as performing at top fringe theatres including The
Tricycle, BAC and The Lyric Studios. She has also formed
international links through local stories between schools
in England and Ghana and is a member of 'The Ogresses' a
collective of women storytellers and musicians who create
women's storytelling events.
